Welcome to Kontinuiti!

This has been a long time coming!

I grew up on a small farm in south Alabama. Our primary crops were corn, soybeans, and pecans. After I graduated from high school, I went to college in Mobile and started working for a small company that developed software for process control systems for many different industries. One thing that I always thought about while implementing systems in this field was, "Imagine what we could have done if we had these technologies back on the farm!" Years went by and I worked with many different applications of technology in many different fields, but I would always find myself musing from time to time about how the agriculture field could benefit from a lot of the tools that I built.

Fast forward to now. After many years of work and education (I picked up an MBA and a PhD in Computer Science along the way), I was finally able to devote some time to defining a vision of how to apply the technologies to agriculture, and also to define a why for my quest. With increasing global populations, changes in climate that have adverse affects on the crop cycle as well as cause damage to crops each year, and the continued conversion of farmland to subdivisions and other effects of urban sprawl, I realized that something needed to be done to help improve food security. After a lot of scratching in my notebooks, Kontinuiti was born.

I hope that you'll enjoy this journey as much as I will.
